Rapeseed/Canola oil refining machine is very important equipment in the rapeseed/canola oil production line, it refers to remove the harmful impurity from the crude rapeseed oil, such as FFA( Free Fatty Acid), but not only the FFA, it also removes the unwanted impurities, color and odor which may have a negative impact on the taste, odor, and appearance of the oil. The rapeseed oil after rapeseed oil refining process is thinner without FFA, colorless and odorless, and also, it is good for human health and easy to storage.
Rapeseed/Canola oil refining machine process:
Crude rapeseed/canola oil→degumming → deacidification(Alkali refining) →decoloration→deodorization →refined rapeseed/canola oil
1) Degumming and deacidification refining
Degumming is to remove the phospholipids in the crude rapeseed oil. The crude oil is preheated and phosphoric acid is added.
A. Crude oil is delivered to heater after filtering impurities, and then goes to mixer when reach certain temperature.
B. After mixing at high speed, crude oil will go inside hydrated reaction tank and then go to first self-cleaning centrifuge to separate soapstock.
C. Separated heavy oil goes to soapstock storage tank. Light oil goes to heater to react with alkali inside mixer. After reaction, using second self-cleaning centrifuge to separate oil and soapstock. Separated soapstock will be delivered soapstock storage by soapstock pump. Light oil will be adjusted temperature by heater and mixed with hot water to be washed in order to remove residual soap. Then using third centrifuge to separate water.
D. After heat exchanging/heating/vacuum drying, crude oil will be delivered to Decoloration.
2) Alkali refining
Alkali refining is to remove the free fatty acids in the crude oil. Alkali acid is added to reacts with free fatty acid. When the soapstocks precipitate obviously, stop stirring and settle for several hours. Then remove the soapstocks.
Preheat the clean oil and add hot saline-alkaline water. Settle and discharge the wastewater. Wash with hot water for several times.
Decolorization is to remove the pigments in the canola oil. Pump the oil into the decolorization tank and dehydrate under vacuum. Add bleaching clay and stir for 20 minutes. Then the oil is cooled and filtered.
After degumming and Deacidification of rapeseed/canola oil refining machine, crude oil will be heated and mixed with clay and go to decoloring tower to bleach. Clay is delivered to storage bin by blower, and added to oil during rapeseed/canola oil refining production. Decolored oil will be filtered inside vane filter. Filtered unclear oil will be decolored again inside decoloring tower. Decolored clear oil will be send to next step after safe filter. Waste clay will go to storage after filter.
Deodorization is to remove the odor substances in the oil. The decolorized oil is pumped into the deodorization tank for vacuum deodorization by steam distillation. The oil is then cooled and filtered.
A. After heat exchanging, decolored crude oil will be heated to a required temperature and delivered to deodorizing tower.
B. When deodorizing, crude oil is flowing from the top of deodorizing tower layer by layer, on every layer crude oil will be contacted with direct steam and be removed bad smells under high temperature vacuum conditions.
C. Gas will be discharged from top and be caught by fatty acid catcher. Non-condensable gases is drew off by vacuum pump. Part of caught fatty acid continues cycling to catch more impurities, other part is pumped to storage.
D. At the bottom of deodorizing tower of rapeseed oil refining machine, there is a level control system to control liquid level.
E. After oil-oil heat exchanging, crude oil will be cooled down to safe temperature, and filtered to be edible oil.
This continuous rapeseed/canola oil refining machine can be used for many different oil, such as mustards oil, peanut oil, soybean oil etc. based on this process adding dewaxing for sunflower oil refining and adding fractionation for palm oil refining.
